Objective

This initiative seeks to determine the feasibility of, and options for planning for cross-municipality, regional habitat connectivity across metropolitan Melbourne. This initiative aims to clarify an approach for planning for habitat connectivity across metropolitan Melbourne. It is a pilot focussed on neighbouring council areas in eastern region with Councils that have, are developing, or plan to undertake, habitat connectivity/corridor plans for their municipality. The Working Group is discussing a project brief that articulates the requirements in a habitat connectivity plan for the defined project area.

Next steps: Finalise the project brief for a gaps and opportunities habitat connectivity plan and seek appropriate funding to progress this approach.
